To attend the meeting, all participants must register & pay the registration fee.

Registration Fee Includes:

Meals during the conference
- Shared costs for meeting and poster room rentals
- Audio-visual and poster equipment
- Access to recorded talks
- Other conference-related expenses

Hotel Reservations:
Hotel costs cover lodging and breakfast. Room rates range from € 164 to € 194 (approximately $210 to $245) per night for the three nights of the conference (double occupancy). Occupancy, upgraded rooms, and premium locations or amenities may be more expensive. Room expenses cannot be split between occupants.

  3. After confirmation, select a roommate and make your lodging reservation, ensuring both guests’ names are listed on the reservation.

The Maize Genetics Conference (MGC) introduced a membership platform to support and sustain our community. Visit the Membership page to learn more and become a member. If you register as a member but your dues are not current when the meeting begins, you will be billed for the difference between the member and non-member registration rates.

Here are the steps to complete the registration process for the 2026 meeting:

Step 1 Financial Aid Multiple financial aid awards are available for qualifying applicants.
Deadline: December 19th.
Step 2 Hotel Reservation To make reservations for the conference hotel, follow the Hotel instructions on this page or click on the "Housing & Travel" link at the top of this page.
Deadline: December 25th.
Step 3 Registration

Step 4 Abstract submission To submit a talk or poster abstract, follow the instructions on this page. You must be registered for in-person attendance to submit an abstract.

    Hotel reservations cover lodging but does not include meeting registration.
    Please make roommate arrangements before you reserve your hotel room and make the reservation with both guest names.

    Staff Scientists:
    Please register according to your education and experience level (Undergraduate, Graduate, Postdoc, Professor/Professional).

    Membership Discounts:
    To register at the member rate, your membership must be active at the event date: February 26, 2026.

    All registrations will be verified against our current membership list.
    If your membership will not be current at that time, you will be asked to pay the non-member rate or activate/renew your membership.

  • Printed abstract books are not be available for 2026, however a digital version will be availble.

    - MGC stickers and new this year,
    - Cologne Guided Walking Tour.
    These items are ONLY available for purchase before the event and will not be available for sale at the meeting.‼️

    ‼️ Ancillary items may not be eligible for reimbursement under grant funding.
    Please consult your grant administrator before making purchases to ensure compliance with grant guidelines.

  • Please submit any substitutions or cancellations/request for refunds in writing to maizegcevents@gmail.com. Requests received by 12 p.m U.S CST Jan 8, 2026. will receive a full refund. After January 8, 2026, a $50 processing fee will be withheld, and no refunds will be issued after February 1, 2026. For registration questions, email maizegcevents@gmail.com.
